Our members - Dennis Mitchell

Born at Gwithian, near Hayle, Dennis started to sing at an early age, as a boy Soprano, at concerts in local churches and village halls.

At the age of 14, the family moved to Mid Cornwall and he attended Probus C.P. School where the head Teacher was Mr leonard Lobb, M.D. of the Probus Male Voice Choir, it was not long before he joined the choir as a Baritone and soloist.

Not long after his marriage, the Probus male Voice Choir was disbanded and Dennis started to sing with the then ECLP Engineers Dept. Male Voice Choir, for whom he worked in the maintenance department. however, after on season, with other family and church commitments, he took 'time out' from his singing.

However, on their move to Nanpean he was invited to singwith the famous Treviscoe Male Voice Choir for whom he sang as 2nd Temor and Baritone.

When the Treviscoe Male Voice Choir disbanded, Dennis again joined the now ECC Engineering Male VoiceChoir and when our later Chairman Bill Allen resigned as Secretary, Dennis offered to 'fill the gap until...' - and is still Secretary 3 years on!
